Product Description
“Meet a young man named Odd . . . who helps the dead get even."

From the infinite imagination of #1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz comes the suspenseful graphic-novel debut of a natural-born hero with a supernatural twist.

Odd Thomas is a regular nineteen-year-old with an unusual gift: the ability to see the lingering spirits of the dead. To Odd, it’s not such a big deal. And most folks in sleepy Pico Mundo, California, are much more interested in the irresistible pancakes Odd whips up at the local diner. Still, communing with the dead can be useful. Because while some spirits only want a little company . . . others want justice.

When the sad specter of a very frightened boy finds its way to him, Odd vows to root out the evil suddenly infecting the sunny streets of Pico Mundo. But even with his exceptional ability–plus the local police and his pistol-packing girlfriend, Stormy, backing him–is Odd any match for a faceless stalker who’s always a step ahead . . . and determined to kill again?

1 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment   July 3, 2008

If I could give this ZERO stars I would have. I pre-ordered this book thinking it was the next novel to in the Odd series. When I got it I was shocked. I will take the responsibility of not reading far enough to know it was a COMIC. That in itself is a joke. I have read almost every Dean Koontz book there is. I am so disappointed. How could he be so careless. What possessed him to think this would fly with his devout followers? I may have to go back to Stephen King. I expect much more from Koontz. This was a total waste of my money and time.

Is there any way to get a refund?

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money   July 2, 2008

If you are a Dean Koontz follower, don't let this deceive you, it is not the standard that we know and enjoy. I thought anything by Koontz was worthy of my money and time. IT'S NOT. THIS IS A TOTAL WASTE. It's for kids that have no imagination and need someone to think for them.

1 out of 5 stars Only good for a 'look' at their faces   July 2, 2008

Unlike others, I knew this was a manga comic in advance. However, this was an absolute waste of time and money. The story was boring and pointless. With all the exciting past adventures that have been mentioned throughout all the novels, this is all they could come up with? Where's the cross-eyed ferret, or starved alligator? No appearance by Little Ozzie, Chief Porter seems more like a yes man constantly hoping that Odd will save the day so he won't have to put in any effort, and Stormy and Odd talk about his secrets right next to people yet no one over hears them. Sure, it is only a comic, but I really expected at least some level of Koontz amazing ability to create a suspenseful story filled with exciting and deep characters. This comic absolutely failed to capture even a thimble full of character that so many love in the Odd series.

1 out of 5 stars Not what I expected   July 1, 2008

If you like Dean Koontz do not buy this "Comic Book". I have read all of Dean Koontz's books and I had preordered this book not knowing it was a Comic Book not a novel. I have read the previous books in the Odd series and have my own images of what the characters look like and they do not look like the images in this Comic Book, I do not believe the illistrator took the time to read the other books in the series. Do not waste your money on this book it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

2 out of 5 stars What was Dean Koontz thinking????   June 26, 2008

I gave it 2 stars because i should have paid more attention when I ordered and didn't notice the "COMIC" notation. I love the Dean Koontz "Odd Thomas" series but this comic book sucks. A total waste of money. I don't know what Koontz was thinking when he agreed to this.
He needs to get to work and finish his Frankenstein trilogy.
